At the tender age of five, I accepted Christ as my Savior after being inspired by a film presented at our church. Four years later, I was baptized in water near Bogotá, Colombia. Following high school, I attended a Bible Institute, where my life took a significant turn as my father faced difficulties after being baptized in the Holy Spirit. My own experience with speaking in tongues was a struggle during our time in Colombia, but it wasn't until my two years at Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI) that I found my freedom in prayer. After one year of Bible school, I enlisted in the U.S. Army for three years, during which I learned German after completing a course. Upon returning home, I visited family in Bolivia before committing to CFNI for two more years, studying a range of subjects, from the Old and New Testament to hermeneutics and sign language interpreting. During my second summer there, I traveled with the singing group "Signs of the Covenant" as their sound technician, an experience that deepened my faith and enhanced my ability to pray in tongues. Upon completing my studies, I returned to Bolivia as a missionary, where I met Esthela, the secretary at the Pentecostal Church, who later became my wife. We married in 1985 and moved to the U.S. in 1986, first settling in Georgia before relocating to Crosby, Texas. After 35 years at Eastgate Church in Dayton, we attended Cristo Viene, a Spanish church in Baytown, Texas, and have now been part of 1-Ness Ministries for nearly two years, continuing our journey of faith and fellowship.
